THE WOMAN ..: MY HEROES
...: GORDON BITNER & MARJORIE PAY HINCKLEY
I have always respected and felt a great love for President Hinckley as I have listened to him give talks at General Conference, read his books, and watched him during various television interviews. As I have been reading his biography the past few weeks the respect and love I have for him has grown as I have realized just what an incredible man he is. He loves the Lord and that love is what guides his life. He makes all of his decisions based on the Lord because the Lord is his first priority. Both President and Sister Hinckley are very positive individuals. They find the best in life and love laughing at the situations that are thrown at them. Sister Hinckley is a fabulous example of a great mother. She found such joy in her children and in their accomplishments. Her family meant everything to her and she was always available to them. Whenever she was with someone everything centered on them, she listened and cared and made people feel as if they were the most important person.
...: MARGENE NIELSEN WALKER

Sister Walker was the wife of my mission president. She lived her life in a way that the Savior was in her countenance. I always felt good in her presence. When called into President Monson's office to receive the call to serve as Mission President & Wife she was sad at the prospect of leaving her children & grandchildren. She was the world's best Nana. When her youngest son Matthew & his wife Amy had their first baby she handed out pencils to celebrate his birth. She was so proud of him. I loved how much she loved her family and that is where her center was. She always was so strong. She was terrified of speaking in public and while serving with her husband in Indiana she would shake when having to get up and speak, but she did it and did it with a smile. I remember sitting in a waiting room at the hospital when my companion had surgery and looking up and seeing Sister Walker walk in. She came to sit with me and make sure I was okay during that scary time. I cherish that day because of the one on one time I had with her. She loved lighthouses and every time I see one now I remember her and the light that she shed in my life.

...: STEPHANIE BRINTON

Stephanie is only 20 years old but has the most beautiful soul. Her beauty starts at the surface. She has a beautiful smile, gorgeous hair, athletic figure, and more. But her beauty is more than just skin deep. She is kind to all that she comes in contact with. I was speaking with a co-worker about her one day when I was told how a parent had told this teacher how this woman had changed her sons life. She had treated him with kindness when many others had not. I have seen this with my own eyes as she has befriended some that others would barely even talk to. She is gracious and finds moments to thank others who have touched her life, from her basketball coach to the office staff. She radiates a spirit about her because she chooses to live her life in a way that the Spirit is constantly with her. She has accomplished so much in her life due to her hard work and dedication and she follows the spirit in all decision making. She has taught me that if you work hard and follow the Lord that you can accomplish anything.
